Endpoint Protection (Antivirus) Policy

Requirement

Every company endpoint must run an active, up-to-date antivirus with real-time protection. The current standard is Microsoft Defender Antivirus (real-time protection enabled, signatures updated automatically at least daily).

Controls

Users cannot disable real-time protection for operational convenience.
Full scans run on schedule; detections are reviewed by the Security Owner the same day.
Downloaded files are treated as untrusted and kept in isolated folders before use.
Operating system and browser updates are installed automatically.
